On June 12^th 2006 Truth In Love Ministry launched the initial set of content for the reaching (witnessing) web site, TheCityOfZion.com.  The site was formerly called MyHeavenlyFather.com and either name will get you to the site.  This website  is designed to witness directly to members of the LDS church in the privacy of their own homes.  We are very excited about the potential of this site to get God’s Truth into the hands of Mormons in words they can understand. The site contains foundational biblical articles which also address common LDS reactions to these messages.  Christians using the approach of "Speaking the Truth in Love" will not only be able to direct their Mormon friends to the site, but also use the articles on the site as examples and background material for their own witnessing efforts.  Even though the site is particularly focused on the LDS community; it should be an effective witnessing tool for people of all backgrounds and a source of support for all Christians.  It is a great place for a Christian to read inspiring articles that reground him or her in the foundational message of God's grace.

There exists a great vacuum within the LDS church for clear explanations of biblical doctrine and how it contrasts with Mormon doctrine.  Mormons are often discouraged by their church leaders from reading material considered "anti-Mormon".  This includes articles describing the simple truths of the Bible and how they contrast with LDS doctrine.  Mormons are told to trust only "official LDS material".  They are discouraged from asking penetrating questions in their Scripture classes, being told that they are causing others to "question their testimony".

Mormons are not allowed to question their church’s authorities.  These authorities claim divine accuracy for themselves.  As such, their interpretation of scripture cannot be wrong.  Therefore Mormons are discouraged from interpreting scriptures on their own.  Local Mormon congregations do not even have theological leaders.

Questioning church teachings is seen as questioning church leaders and is one of the most serious trespasses a Mormon can make.  It will result in being ostracized by fellow members, and if these doubts are shared with others; disciplinary action.  As a result there is nowhere for a questioning Mormon to turn.  It is our intention that they be able to turn to TheCityOfZion.com where they will be free to explore their questions and be encouraged to follow God's command to "test the spirits" through personal Bible study.

A key aspect of the design of TheCityOfZion is its twelve unique destinations.  The City is comprised of Zion’s Gate (the Home Page) and eleven buildings.  These buildings have the common purpose of containing the witnessing articles.  However each building makes a unique contribution to the City. Each has a different way of presenting God’s messages and each will be attractive to different visitors.  Some will be heavy on God’s requirements to convict the arrogant.  Others will be heavy on God’s messages of forgiveness and salvation to heal those who are already burdened by their sin.

You are invited to visit the City yourself.  Currently the City Gate and five of the other eleven buildings are operational.  Progress towards the opening of the other buildings continues.  This is a time intensive activity. Work will be paced by the financial support given Truth In Love Ministry.  Once all the City's buildings open work will continue to add additional content to the site for many years.

It is anticipated that TheCityOfZion will generate a substantial amount of LDS email.  Truth In Love Ministry has a growing team of trained email evangelists.  They correspond with each LDS individual both with biblical answers to questions and with emotional support.  They also supply Mormons who are "crossing over"  with Bible studying materials, help connect them with Christians in their area and maintain a relationship as they grow in their new faith.  This work will multiply many times over as TheCityOfZion.com grows.

Truth In Love Ministry is developing various advertising initiatives designed to entice LDS members to visit the City.  The site is being designed and developed to be search engine friendly so that it will be prominent in many typical LDS searches.  Beyond that we want to be able to use pass along cards, billboards, radio and newsprint to draw people in.  See the top of this page for a link to a set of pass along cards you can print yourself and handout to your Mormon friends, family neighbors, and/or coworkers.  Soon you will be able to order these cards from our online catalog (in the Additional Resources section of this site).

Overall this project is big, bigger even than TruthInLoveToMormons.com, substantially bigger!  The scope of this project is significantly larger than the current means of Truth In Love Ministry.  By pursuing this vision, our ministry is making a giant leap of faith.  Our ultimate success is in the hands of God.  The timing of the site’s future releases and the progress of the email evangelism will depend largely upon the support we receive from other Christians.  You can support this work to reach Mormons and bring them to Christ by becoming a partner of Truth In Love Ministry.  Click the "Support" link in the navigation bar to find out how.
